Attention caregivers and care partners

The TVSD Care Partners Support Group provides a safe place where caregivers can give voice to stressful experiences, strong feelings, and personal frustrations in the company of others. It is a place where we can share ideas and provide empathic understanding. Caregivers and care partners are invited to attend our meetings.

This group welcomes new attendees. If you would like to learn more about these meetings, please contact the event host, Fran Zweibel, for more information.

Well Here's a Dog-Gone Good Idea!

Do you have a friendly dog and want to form a Doggie Pack with TVSD friends?

Maybe meet in yards for short get-acquainted times and/or go on walks together?

Maybe dog-sit a TVSD dog who you know, and who knows your own dog—in case of emergency or when a dog-friend is traveling?

PLEASE REPLY TO CAROL LEE WITH YOUR IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS!

Emergency Preparedness Month -

County, CAL FIRE and San Diego County Sheriff’s officials reminded people regionwide to have disaster and evacuation plans in place. San Diego County Sheriff Anthony Ray urged people to plan ahead and not wait until disaster strikes at a press conference to update the public about the Border 32 fire Thursday. He said people should have telephone contacts ready, as well as food, water, and prescription medications if they take them, and a full tank of gasoline in the car.
“Have those plans ahead of time,” Ray said, “so … you can move out quickly.”

To find information about how to create a personal disaster plan, go to the County’s ReadySanDiego website at https://www.readysandiego.org/

Are you a Male Solo Ager?

This article, written by a man who is a solo ager, focuses on the particular challenges faced by male solo agers.  The main emphasis is on the fact that most men don’t like to admit vulnerability or ask for help, and on how important it is to “go toward others”, rather than isolating".
