The Aging Eye

About this event

As we age, we can expect changes in our vision. Plan to attend this presentation for an overview of vision problems; diagnosis, treatment options, and support available to assist with low vision.

Dr. Nathan D. Johnson, O.D. received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Michigan State University-Lyman Briggs School of Science in Human Biology and his Doctor of Optometry degree with distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry. He completed externship training in ocular disease management, specialty contact lens fitting, pediatrics, and primary care optometry services.

Dr. Johnson is a full scope optometrist licensed in the treatment and management of ocular disease with therapeutic pharmaceutical agents. He emphasizes early detection of ocular pathology such as diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration, treats acute and chronic eye infections, and performs minor procedures like punctal occlusion for dry eye. Dr. Johnson co manages refractive surgery, fits all types of contact lenses, and participates in contact lens studies. Recently he helped coordinate and manage participation in a study comparing two of the newest multifocal contact lenses available.
Dr. Johnson is also certified in corneal refractive therapy (CRT). Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and San Diego Optometric Society.
