An Important Key to TVSD Success

The success of the Tierrasanta Village of San Diego is dependent on relationships with support organizations in our community.  These community partners provide advice, consultation, classes, social events, services, and often financial donations to our Village. “It takes a Village” was never truer!

Villa Monterey Homeowners Association supports Tierrasanta Village through a reduced rate use of their clubhouse for day-to-day operations.

The Tierrasanta Seventh-day Adventist Church provides meeting space and banquet facilities for TVSD monthly meetings and social events.

The UPS Store #4357 has provided discounted mailbox and printing services for TVSD since 2008.

County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency/Aging and Independent Services provides seminars, healthy living classes and other resources for San Diego’s seniors.

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors has awarded several Community Enhancement Grants to TVSD funding Balance, Brain Health and other healthy living classes
.

Tierrasanta Foundation invites TVSD to participate in all community events, often offering a profit-sharing program.  The Tierrasanta Foundation served as fiduciary agent until tax-exempt status was awarded to TVSD.

Tierrasanta Junior Women’s Club has made cash donations to TVSD and provides fundraising and advertising opportunities at the annual TierraFest Craft Fair and Tierrasanta Oktoberfest.

Tierrasanta Community Council provides TVSD with support in fundraising, events, and community information.

TVSD’s participation in the Kiwanis of Tierrasanta corn-hole tournament returns dollars to the organization.

TVSD is a member of Village Movement California, a state-wide organization of Villages providing information, technology, and resource sharing with all California member Villages.

Village to Village Network is an international association of Villages throughout the world offering guidance, resources, and support to help communities establish and maintain their Villages.

Love 2 Live Care Services has provided educational seminars for members and training of TVSD volunteers.

Alzheimer’s Association provided Maximizing Brain Health speaker for the Brain Talk health and wellness series.

On the Go Transportation Program/Jewish Family Services provides transportation, including Rides and Smiles and On the Go Shuttles.

San Diego Futures Foundation provided technological support, equipment, and training to TVSD during early development.

Del Mar Health Care sponsored TVSD’s Cultural Diversity Through Art program.

The San Diego Foundation has assisted TVSD with guidance on fundraising and nonprofit image enhancement.

The Archstone Foundation provided a generous grant that supported the Village during early development.

Dr. Mario Garrett, San Diego State University, Department of Gerontology and University Center on Aging has provided guidance with agencies that offer services, interagency collaboration, and social support within the community.


In addition, many of Tierrasanta’s merchants support the organization with generous donations and discounts to our members.
